ABOUT US
We are a 100% Black Woman Empowered Consultancy.
Ikigai is a Japanese term that roughly translates to “reason for being.” It is a lifestyle that seeks to balance the spiritual with the practical. This balance is found at the intersection where your passions and talents converge with the things that the world needs and is willing to pay for.
I was attracted by this diagram shown to me by an acquaintance and researched the concept. What I found helped to bring into focus all the random ideas and thoughts I had that I’ve struggled to express on my own.I wanted to apply this to my life and my life as a budding entrepreneur. Since becoming a mum I’ve felt a frustration that stemmed from conflicting desires. I wanted to live a life of climbing the corporate ladder. Then I wanted to enjoy the lifestyle that came along with money of been an entrepreneur. I wanted a life with meaning and consequence. The result was an infuriating struggle between the things that made money and the things I truly cared about.
Ikigai is the developed version of the concept I was looking for. It is, simply put (on all search engines out there), “your reason for getting out of bed every morning.” I’ve made the mistake of believing that money led to fulfillment. It never felt right, but I thought that if I had money, then I could have an impact on the world.
Ikigai is the junction of four primary elements:
- What you love (your passion)
- What the world needs (your mission)
- What you are good at (your vocation)
- What you can get paid for (your profession)
To find my Ikigai, I needed to find what I was most passionate about. Then, find the medium through which I could express that passion. What I am passionate about is energy and engineering and the sciences behind that; training and empowering people into transforming this world we live in. My last passion and one I hold very close to my heart is our children; the future of our worlds; the legacies we are creating. I wanted to develop their young minds to learn the art of play. I started this company with these passions. I am applying them to the things that the world needs, and make a profit in the process. Ikigai for me is about finding joy, fulfillment, and balance in my daily routine of life. I was of the opinion that our job, family and passions are all separate and unrelated. The fundamental truth of Ikigai is that everything is connected.
At the intersection of all of this is our IKIGAI – feelings of peace and lasting happiness that can sustain us throughout our entire lives. I have found my Ikigai…what is yours?

IKI KIDS
This chapter of the business focuses on STEAM Education- It’s the connection of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math with a child’s curiosity and creativity.
Supporting and guiding children’s distinctive and natural desire to explore and question our programs are fun and interactive.
Researched and developed by an engineer our programs have been designed through collaboration between a psychologist, occupational therapist and an engineer. All with young children they saw the need to allow kids just be kids and let play turn into adventure.
With the current generation of children involved so heavily on screens to get their education they sometimes lacked the ability to interact and learn with their hands. Simple exercises become difficult hindering their learning ability hence affecting their progress at primary school. Hence the introductory programme focuses on children from 3-5 years.
Let your child spend the afternoon doing hands-on fun activities and learn about Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM).
